As with the paladins, none of them are cheering - the air of quiet expectations drifts along the cleared roads. Guards stand in ranks on either side of the curb. The boy who escorted you to the briefing earlier is once again there to lead you to the wall.

[21:22] * Ceol yawns again and begins stretching, his tail moving slowly from side to side. "Everyone ready for this?"

[21:22] <Mayard> "Yeah, I guess."
[21:22] <Koreyan> "Well, as much as I can be... I seem to be more of a liability lately than anything..."

[21:22] * Janna pats Koreyan on the back. "Everyone has off days."
[21:22] <Aldante_Fax> Carson staggers out. He seems to have been doing a little pre-battle 'preperation', by the smell of alcohol.

[21:23] * Janna glares at Carson for not sharing, but decided for some bizzare reason that interacting with him now is a bad idea.

[21:23] <Janna> "I bet you'll be leading the reckless charge again before long!"
[21:24] * Koreyan looks over at Ceol, an eyebrow raised.

[21:25] * Janna ponders trying to steal Carson's wallet while he's drunk, but suddenly he's not drunk anymore.

[21:25] * Tetra looks at everyone, then at the paladins, then everyone again.
[21:25] <Tetra> "... we should get moving."
[21:25] <Janna> "Well, no sense in waiting around!"

[21:25] <Mayard> "Yeah."
[21:25] * Carson looks around a bit. He seems to be a bit unaware of the situation, but nods at the others' statements.
[21:25] * Janna twirls a knife in one hand.
[21:26] <Aldante_Fax> With the townspeople standing on either side of the road, cordoned off by the guards, you are escorted by the youth to the island wall. The path is quick, and you are there in a short amount of time. The paladins are sitting in a circle there, the raven-haired one saying a benediction to his comrades.
[21:27] * Mayard listens in a little.
[21:27] * Koreyan checks his blades and other various items around his body along the way.
[21:27] * Carson stretches his gloves, and keeps his eyes moving.
[21:27] * Janna ponders stealing the paladins' wallets while they're distracted.
[21:28] * Tetra looks on, his face showing... anger? Or is it sadness? Hell, it could be a bit of both.
[21:28] * Yvalphone links her arm with Tetra's. "Almost time," she whispers.
[21:28] <Aldante_Fax> The benediction ends, and as one, they rise and turn towards the party. "We're ready."
[21:28] <Janna> "Well, let's do it!"
[21:28] * Mayard nods.
[21:28] <Carson> 'bout time.
[21:28] * Janna looks antsy.
[21:29] * Tetra whispers back, "You're right. Looks like the debt can be repaid."
[21:29] * Koreyan nods and falls into place somewhere along in the group, brooding slightly to himself.
[21:29] * Nachttier looks a little weakened after the benediction.
[21:29] * Janna sticks close to Koreyan.
[21:30] * Tetra starts moving foward, Yval hopefully in tow.
[21:30] <Tetra> "Well then", as he walks, "let's move."
[21:30] * Mayard stays somewhat close to Carson and away from Nachttier.
[21:30] * Ceol smiles and begins moving along, off to the side some.

[21:30] * Carson looks down at the kid, to the masked guy, and then at the paladins. Smart kid.

[21:33] * Koreyan pulls a pair of cigarellos from a pocket in his coat, offering one to Janna.

[21:35] * Carson shakes his head. "I don't try. I just grab onto something an' hope for the best."
[21:35] <Aldante_Fax> Yvalphone steps forward into a cleared circle and begins to channel Valefor.

[21:35] <Janna> "That's your mistake... you have to go for the big prize."
[21:35] <Janna> "Otherwise... why bother?"
[21:36] <Carson> Simple. Comin' out of it alive.
[21:36] <Mayard> "You just have to make sure the big prize is worth it."
[21:36] * Tetra watches Yval as she summons, an intrigued look on his face.
[21:36] <Janna> "If it kills you, you were never good enough to deserve it."
[21:36] <Koreyan> "Otherwise... why bother?"
[21:36] * Koreyan smirks slightly at Janna
[21:36] * Ceol watches her begin the summoning, hand very close to his blade.
[21:37] * Carson shakes his head again. "I'm gonna stop bothing now."
[21:37] <Carson> (*bothering)
[21:37] <Ceol> "Focus on the mission.. we need to get this over with"
[21:37] * Mayard takes a casual look at the summoning, almost like this is an old-hat sort of thing.
[21:37] <Yvalphone> Yvalphone's spirit visibly leaves her body and ascends swiftly into the heavens. A bird-like shriek is heard. Plummeting from a newly formed funnel of clouds the winged Aeon, Valefor, appears in all her glory. Towering over the group at almost 20 feet, the large bird has a noticably female body. Red and purple plumage cover her bat-like wings and a golden link chain dangles in the air catching bits of sunlight.
[21:38] <Nachttier> "Interesting trick."
[21:38] <Mayard> "Very nice."
[21:38] * Tetra grins to himself as Valefor descends to the earth.
[21:38] * Janna falls back on her butt. "Whoa."

[21:38] * Carson looks up. "...Holy shit."
[21:38] * Koreyan looks up at the flying creature and nods in approval.
[21:38] * Ceol fingers his sword, looking directly at the beast.
[21:38] * Valefor_True shrieks in pride as she lands.
[21:38] <Aldante_Fax> Several guards step forward with some packs of food and some water, courtesy of the townsfolk.
[21:39] <Mayard> "Well, good to see something that big on our side for o- for a while."
[21:39] * Carson nods. "I know she's done it before, but it seems... I'unno, *bigger*."
[21:39] <Janna> "That is pretty impressive."
[21:40] <Nachttier> ((It's the breast enlargement surgery. Works wonders every time.))
[21:40] <Koreyan> (( Is Valefor female? o_o ))
[21:40] <Tetra> "... you expect an aeon to retain one size?"
[21:40] <Tetra> (( Yup ))
[21:40] <Aldante_Fax> "Who's in charge, here?" One of the guards asks the party at large, carrying a binded pack of food.

[21:40] * Tetra looks over at the guard.
[21:40] * Koreyan looks around at whomever is going to claim leadership.
[21:40] * Ceol walks over to the guard.
[21:40] <Carson> That what it called?
[21:40] <Mayard> "...eh, why not?"
[21:40] <Nachttier> "..."
[21:41] <Koreyan> "..."
[21:41] * Tetra shakes his head at Ceol, then turns to Carson.
[21:41] <Janna> "I am!"
[21:41] * Janna smiles brightly.
[21:41] <Koreyan> "Erm... no offense, Ceol... but I do believe you just recently joined our little group."
[21:41] <Koreyan> "... If he's willing, I'd nominate Tetra."
[21:41] <Tetra> "Yes. The great summoned beasts - the aeons. Something akin to a god."
[21:41] * Janna glares at Koreyan.
[21:41] <Mayard> "Well, we haven't worked that out completely yet, so let's just have... yeah, Tetra will work."
[21:41] * Tetra looks at Koreyan in slight wonder.
[21:41] * Carson turns, blinks, and says to himself, "either way, we're kinda screwed..."
[21:41] <Janna> "Ahem. I am the lead..... HEY!"
[21:42] * Janna pouts.
[21:42] * Tetra looks at everyone for a moment... then heads over to the guard.
[21:42] <Tetra> "That would be me."
[21:42] * Koreyan puts his hand over Janna's mouth. "You don't honestly want to try and lead us all, do you?"
[21:42] <Aldante_Fax> The guard shakes his head, and puts down the package. The party is left to their own devices to ration out the food the way they see fit, whoever the leader might be.
[21:42] * Ceol raises a brow. "Does a leader really matter at this point? I don't think anyone will agree to one person"
[21:42] * Tetra takes the pack and looks in it to see how to ration all of this out.

[21:43] * Janna bites Koreyan's hand. Not hard. Just bites.
[21:43] <Mayard> "Well, we can at least call someone a leader and just do what we do anyway."
[21:43] * Valefor_True begins grroming her feathers with her beak.

[21:43] * Koreyan pulls his hand back and thumps her on the head. "I thought not."
[21:43] * Carson nods. "I don't care who waves the 'leader' flag. And don't worry too much 'bout feeding me."
[21:43] * Janna pouts and takes what *she* considers her fair share of the provisions.
[21:44] * Mayard takes a couple kid-sized portions.
[21:44] <Koreyan> "I think most of this we can take care of on the way... but we should get moving as soon as possible."
[21:44] * Tetra looks at Koreyan and nods.
[21:44] * Ceol nods as well "It is agreed then, there is no leader."
[21:44] <Janna> "Let's see... this is an even distribution... now, since I have all the responsibility of watching out for Koreyan, I'll carry his share... and adjust a bit for size and activity..."
[21:44] <Tetra> "Might be a good idea."
[21:44] * Janna ends up with about three people's share.
[21:45] * Koreyan takes the provisions from her and puts them back with the group's pile. "On the way."
[21:45] * Carson raises an eyebrow. She can't eat that much. Can she?
[21:45] * Koreyan smirks. "Not now. And equally, you greedy little brat."
[21:45] * Tetra takes the rest of the pack - assuming he can lift it - and heads over to Valefor to begin preparations for departure.
[21:45] * Mayard goes up close to the giant summoned creature.
[21:45] <Janna> "Hey!"
[21:45] <Janna> "THat was equal based on, uh, size. And how active people are. And stuff."
[21:45] <Ceol> "Not equally, Koreyan. Some of us do eat more than others"
[21:46] * Janna scowls.
[21:46] <Mayard> "..."
[21:46] * Koreyan shakes his head...
[21:46] * Ceol heads over towards towards Valefor.
[21:46] <Janna> . o O (Besides, a lot of starving people everywhere would pay good money for food...)
[21:46] * Valefor_True lowers her head to Mayard.
[21:46] * Carson kinda sighs. Best. Group. Ever.

[21:46] * Tetra looks at Janna. "We'll figure this out on the way. For now, we need to get moving."
[21:46] * Mayard pats the summon's head gently.
[21:46] * Carson nods. "We keep making that point, but the movement never happens."

[21:47] <Tetra> "Then follow."
[21:47] * Janna follows Tetra.
[21:47] * Tetra keeps heading over to Valefor.
[21:47] * Valefor_True winks at the kid.
[21:47] * Mayard then goes to help get everything ready.
[21:47] <Aldante_Fax> The sun reaches it's zenith. Now is high time to begin moving. The Paladins help each other onto Valefor, their gear already on their person.
[21:47] * Tetra helps everyone else aboard first.
[21:47] * Koreyan nods at Tetra, and mounts the beast, holding a hand out to assist Tetra.
[21:47] * Mayard is helped aboard.
[21:47] * Carson hops on without a problem, and finds a good place to sit. "This'll be fun."
[21:48] * Janna accepts Tetra's help, making sure he doesn't get a peek up her dress.
[21:48] * Tetra hands Koreyan the food pack first.
[21:48] * Tetra seems too intent on something else to sneak a peek at ninja booty.
[21:48] <Aldante_Fax> Everybody clambers aboard Valefor without much trouble. There is enough space for everybody to sit together, albeit cramped.
[21:48] * Koreyan takes the pack and slips it around his chest, holding his hand out again after he resettles himself.
[21:49] * Janna sits with her arms wrapped around Koreyan's waist, taking as little space as possible.
[21:49] * Tetra looks at Valefor for a moment. "My apologies." He then grabs Koreyan's hand and lifts himself up, pressing his feet against Valefor to leverage himself enough.
[21:49] * Valefor_True makes sure everyone's settled, including the tranced-out Yvalphone.
[21:49] * Mayard naturally takes up little space. :)
[21:49] * Carson takes up a good bit of space, but squeezes in anyhow.
[21:50] * Koreyan . o O (Hmm... I do hope we don't get attacked while on here. It might be a bit difficult to do much of -anything while cramped like we are...)

[21:51] * Ceol nods and finds a spot.

[21:51] * Koreyan looks around. "I think... I think we're all settled. Tetra?"
[21:51] <Aldante_Fax> With a mighty flap of the wings, Valefor beats away the dust from the cleared space and begins to rise into the air on it's own volition.
